Kate White received a Ph.D. in Slavic Linguistics from the Ohio State University with a specialization in Second Language Studies. Her research interests are primarily related to applied linguistics and second language acquisition, and include learning context effects (e.g. classroom, study abroad), bilingual cognition, second language interactional competence at all levels, and the intersection of pedagogy and research. She focuses on strengthening the connection between research and pedagogy through the use of the second language classroom as an empirical context and through the incorporation of language analysis in context in the classroom at all levels. She has taught Russian culture, literature, film, and all levels of Russian language.
