María Lujan Stasevicius just finished her Ph.D. in Spanish Literature at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also got her MA. Her research focuses on cultural and fictional representations of financial crisis in contemporary Argentina and Spain. During her time at Illinois, she taught different Spanish courses, as well as Cultural Studies ones.
Prior to coming to US, Lujan also earned a teaching degree from Universidad Nacional del Sur, in Bahía Blanca, her hometown. She also taught Literature and Spanish in high schools and privately for several years. In Houston, she has been teaching private classes before joining the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication.
