María Victoria Abad Rabat earned her M.A. in the Teaching of Spanish from the Complutense University in Madrid, her hometown. She started her international career in France, where she was first an international student at Sorbonne University in Paris, and then a Spanish instructor in Normandy. In 2011 she was selected by AECID -Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development- and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be an international lecturer for the University of California Los Angeles, where she taught four semesters of lower and upper-level courses in Spanish. In Houston, she coordinated the Foreign Language Lab at University of Houston-Downtown before joining the CLIC at Rice University in Fall 2014.
