CLIC Language Study Award
(for non-Rice in Country programs)
APPLY FOR THE 2026 CLIC LANGUAGE STUDY AWARD.
Amount:
Up to $3,000
Eligibility:
- Preference is given to students with A or B grades in previously taken language courses and an overall GPA of at least 3.00.
- Apply to a study abroad program lasting from six weeks to one year, approved by CLIC.
- Priority will be given to students who are language majors or minors, or who plan to complete the Certificate in Language and Intercultural Communication.
Not all programs approved by the Study Abroad Office will automatically qualify for this award, as the focus should be on language acquisition. Please talk with the Study Abroad Office advisors and the CLIC advisor, Dr. Helade Scutti Santos, to identify an appropriate program.

Selection Process:
A committee comprised of language faculty will select the recipients
