Larisa Moskvitina earned her Ph.D. in Russian as a Foreign Language from St. Petersburg University in Russia and her B.A. and M.A. in Russian Language and Literature from Irkutsk State University, Department of Philology. Before coming to Rice she was an Associate Professor of Russian Language and Head of Assessment in the Department of Russian Language and Literature at Saint-Petersburg Mining University in Russia.

Dr. Moskvitina has experience teaching Russian, from beginning to advanced levels in the United States, South Korea, the Netherlands, and Germany. She has been a Summer Lead Teacher at the Middlebury College Russian School since 2005.
