The Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication plans a new Rice in Country destination for 2024. Rice in Mexico is a 300-level Spanish program focusing on sustainable business practices. Students will travel to the picturesque city of Merida, Mexico where they will take SPAN 322 and SPAN 324. The prerequisites are SPAN 321 or placement in SPAN 322.
The program will feature the following:
- 6 Rice credit hours
- Accommodation with a host family or university dormitory for 6 weeks
- 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner for 6 weeks)
- Local/regional excursions
- Language partners
- Community engagement
